Abigael Kima

Abigael Kima, 25, is a young energy enthusiasm and climate justice advocate from Kenya. She is the producer and host of the new Hali-Hewa podcast (Hali-Hewa is a Swahili term for ‘climate’), profiling African activists and climate experts  on themes including a just energy transition, loss and damage, youth participation in intergovernmental processes and indigenous rights with Climate Home News as a partner syndicating this series.

At COP28, she will be supporting communications for the second edition of the Africa Youth Karavan to COP28.

She is also  a member of the Ethics International Advisory Board at Woxsen University in India. Abigael has previously worked at Powershift Africa on their energy program. Abigael is also part of the advisory council Young Feminists Organizing by population council.

Abigael has a background in Environmental Science (Resource Conservation) from Kenyatta University in Kenya. While in Kenyatta University she was a leader of the Environmental club and was awarded the Erasmus Credit Mobility Scholarship to Hungary to pursue Environmental Engineering at Szent Istvan University in 2018.
