Mariama Williams, Ph. D., Senior Advisor, The Global Afro-descendant Climate Justice Collaborative of the Chisholm Legacy Project and President, FromtheInside2theOutside LLC, is a feminist economist, a yoga therapist and a meditation teacher committed to economic justice, gender justice, climate justice and just transition to the climate crisis. This integrative lens informs her social justice and healing trauma and recovery mission dedicated to cultivating mindful leadership and decision-making at all levels of the global and national polity.
Williams has written extensively on the development-trade-climate change-debt and climate finance nexus. She has also served on wide range of national and international bodies/panels/advisory boards including United Nations entities, The Dag Hammarskjöld Foundation, the Institute of Law and Economics, the Gender and Trade Coalition, Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era and more recently Coordinator, Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Gender (SDCCG) Programme, the South Centre, an inter-governmental think-tank of developing countries and as a lead author of the 2022 Contribution of the Sixth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
